Chromecast Apps For Australia

Here's a list of Chromecast applications or "apps" that work in Australia, I will list free and paid for separately.

There are ways to run applications that support Chromecast though aren't available in your country, Australia often has this problem.

Yes there are ways to run apps like Netflix, by pretending you are based in America, here though will concentrate on apps that are fully available in Australia.

Crackle  Movies & TV

Watch Movies & TV Shows for free on your Android phone and tablet!

More than 25 million fans enjoy this award-winning free app. Crackle provides great new content every month. No signup, no fees, just hit movies, TV shows & original series such as Seinfeld, Pineapple Express and Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, available for free – whenever, wherever. I've used this app, it's not bad, it does have ads just like Australian "free to air" and of course "fuxtel" has constant advertising as well, I will never pay for ads, free I can handle, paid for ads now way! It has older movies and TV Series, pretty good selection for when you're bored on a rainy day.

Google Play Movies & TV

Google Play Movies & TV allows you to watch movies and TV shows purchased or rented on Google Play.

Watch your favorite movies and shows instantly on your Android phone or tablet, or on any HDTV using Chromecast. You can also download and watch from anywhere, even when you're not connected.

Note: TV shows are currently only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan.

This Google app is wonderful, it plays movies and TV that you have purchased from the Google Play Store, the streaming is impeccable!

Google Cast for Chrome Browser

The Google Cast extension enables you to find and play content on your Chromecast device from your Chrome browser.
When on Cast optimized sites like YouTube and Netflix, you'll see new options that let you play video on your TV via Chromecast - using your computer as a remote to browse for videos and to control playback.

Google Play Music

Google Play Music makes it easy to discover, play and share the music you love on Android and the web.

With our new All Access service, you can play millions of songs on Google Play, listen to radio with no limits, and enjoy playlists handcrafted by our music experts.

With both All Access and Standard, the Google Play Music app lets you listen to your music collection anywhere. All your music is stored online, so no need to worry about syncing, storage space or offline playback.
ABC iView is now offering support on Apple and Android devices. Chromecast support on Android and iOS is still in beta stage and we’ll be working through improvements and optimisations to make this experimental service even better. We welcome any suggestions and feedback regarding Chromecast.
Not a great deal for Australians
There are a s few listed apps for Australia, but in all honesty most are crap, there is no decent DLNA app to cast your local files from, though they do seem to be coming, slowly... Plex is great, but you need to run the Plex server on a PC that can run it, I want something that can run on a Raspberry Pi, so I can leave it on 24/7, instead of having to run my desktop PC!

Of course most apps don't care what country you are in, but some like Netflix do and it sucks!
